美國電影學會 American Film Institute (AFI) 成立於 1967 年，
由美國國家藝術基金會 National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) 所創設，
是一獨立運作的非營利組織。
目的在表彰透過電影或電視，終身致力於美國文化發展的個人。
1973 年，開始頒發 AFI 終身成就獎。
1987 年，開始舉辦 AFI 電影節。
